My sweet sister-in-law, Rebekah, called me this week wanting some advice on time management and home upkeep. She's finding her proverbial plate filling up quickly -- she's a wife, a mother to a new walker, a Bradley method instructor-in-training, and a soon-to-be partner with her husband at his new chiropractic office. She wanted to know how I keep things going as a wife, mom of three (and coordinator of the fourth's homecoming), homeschool teacher, and business owner myself.
We spent a while talking about things I've found that work for us as well as tips that I got from wise women when I was a young wife and first-time mom (I would love to still consider myself a young wife, but the wrinkles that stare me down each morning in the mirror tell a different story). We chatted about cleaning the kitchen, doing the laundry, organizing the pantry, and even a bit about dividing up and labeling all the toys.
I hung up from our conversation feeling refreshed and excited. It's always fun to chat with Rebekah, and I love being able to pour into young wives and moms as was done for me years ago (and continues to be done by some!). Then in taking my own advice, I made use of an extra five minutes I had in my day to grab the broom and do a little work under the kitchen table. Now granted, the kids had just finished their lunches, so I expected a few crumbs here and there.
But I would hardly call this a few crumbs...
I guess what I'm saying is that if you're looking for tips on how to keep a tidy house, I'll be happy to get you some names and numbers.

Alright Allison, no more sneaking into my house taking photos of my floors!!!!
That post was just too cute! After keeping both Cara and Kamryn this weekend, that's exactly how the floor under my dining table looked! Crumbs everywhere!
